Elon Musk Launches “America Party” – A Political Shakeup

🗳️ Elon Musk Launches “America Party” – A Political Shakeup

On July 5, 2025, tech billionaire Elon Musk officially announced the formation of the “America Party”, calling it a new centrist political force aimed at disrupting the traditional Democratic–Republican “uniparty” structure in U.S. politics. The announcement came via a viral poll on X (formerly Twitter), where over 1.2 million users participated. Nearly 65% supported the idea of forming a fresh party “to restore freedom.”

This political move follows a growing rift between Musk and former ally Donald Trump over the controversial federal spending bill, nicknamed the “Big, Beautiful Bill”. Musk slammed the legislation, which added over $3.3 trillion in deficit spending, as “insane” and the final push to launch a new party.

While Musk’s financial resources and online influence give him a unique edge, political experts remain cautious. Historically, third-party movements in the U.S. struggle with ballot access, limited grassroots infrastructure, and voter polarization. A Quantus Insights poll showed 40% of Americans may support the America Party, though support among Democrats remains low.

Instead of a presidential run, Musk plans to focus on targeting key congressional seats in 2026. The America Party is still in early stages, but it’s already generating buzz and potentially redefining the American political landscape.
