The announcement came via a viral poll on X (formerly Twitter), where over 1.2 million users participated. Nearly 65% supported the idea of forming a fresh party “to restore freedom.”
This political move follows a growing rift between Musk and former ally Donald Trump over the controversial federal spending bill, nicknamed the “Big, Beautiful Bill”. Musk slammed the legislation, which added over $3.3 trillion in deficit spending, as “insane” and the final push to launch a new party.
While Musk’s financial resources and online influence give him a unique edge, political experts remain cautious. A Quantus Insights poll showed 40% of Americans may support the America Party, though support among Democrats remains low.
